The 22nd quality home built under the program had 20 high school
students working on the home. The colonial style home
is located on a large landscaped lot, featuring a wood exterior,
large energy efficient double-hung windows, and interior oak stairs
and railings. There are three bedrooms, with heated walk-in
closets, including a master bedroom with a whirlpool bath and
lots of natural light; a first floor den-guest room; a great room
with fireplace; a large kitchen featuring appliances and a breakfast
area. The great room opens onto a large wood deck. There
are three full baths, one half bath and a first floor laundry
room with lots of storage. Other features include an energy
efficient furnace/air conditioning system, cable T.V. and phone
outlets in all rooms, and super insulation and special storage
areas.
The design of this year’s home was chosen from several which
were drawn in the Huron and Pioneer Architectural drafting classes.
The student designer was Jim Wise. Former assistant Lloyd
Cochran became the Instructor with Assistance from Robert Mullins.
Dick Russell was Builder of Record and President of the Board.
The home sold for $ 262,000.
