The 6th home built, by the 30 students in the
Ann Arbor Student Homebuilding Program had another new feature.
A contest had been held with the drafting classes of both schools
for a student designed project. The 1976 homes was designed
by Basil “Bill” Pappademetriou from Pioneer High School.
Robert Guenther, Guenther Building, Inc. became President of the
Board of Directors and the Builder of Record for the project.
Ann Arbor Federal Savings and Loan continued, as it had since
the program’s inception, to provide non-interest financial
backing.
This home featured four bedrooms, a family room
with stone fireplace, a study, two full baths, two half baths
(one in the basement), a full basement, and a large two-car garage.
The project was completed under the watchful eye of Instructor
Richard Russell and helped by Educational Assistant Jon Gabrielsen.
The interior decoration was designed by students in the Pioneer
home decorating class of Deborah Zornes. The home sold for
$72,900.
